Video Gaming Geek Since The '80s

I have been a fan of video games since the beginning of the '80s. My first video game system that I got was an Atari 400 and my first game I played was Pac-Man. Then my first handheld video game was a Milton Bradley MicroVision that my paternal grandparents gave me when I was a kid. I enjoyed it very much but haven't played it much since I was out and about with school, the Latchkey program I was part of & being babysat from my paternal grandparents' place to my nana's place plus,I was in New Hampshire with my biological mother for a long time as well so I did not have that opportunity to enjoy video games as much as I wanted to until my father came and brought me back home to New Bedford where I felt I belonged there. Since then,my father started going to church and made new friends there, friends that helped my father change his life around. His friends became my friends and they noticed I like video games as well. One of my new friends,Dougie Gonsalves, gave me a ColecoVision for my birthday and I REALLY enjoyed it! I was introduced to games like Donkey Kong,Venture,Carnival,Mouse Trap,Mr. Do! and even Donkey Kong Junior! Then I had to take a break from it due to school and my new stepmother enforcing rules in the house. Then, through my friends in the neighborhood,I was introduced to Nintendo and I loved it so much! I could not stop talking about Nintendo and I annoyed the heck out of anyone within an earshot of me talking about it. Well,my parents decided to give me a Nintendo Power Set for my birthday! I was ecstatic about it! The only catch was that I was allowed to play for one hour. Plus,my friend next door had a magazine called the Nintendo Fun Club magazine,it was really cool! But school was becoming more important and my grades were slipping at the time so my parents decided to shut it down for the time being. But I also got into wrestling in the '90s as well, but I also wasted most of my teenage life chasing after Paulette Costa, the girl I had a crush on in my church(look up June 7,2011 blog for that story). Then my family grew and we moved in 1995. Again,my Nintendo playing time is gone UNTIL I got my own room in 1998. Once that happened,my stepmother decided to give me back all my video games and video game magazines! During the time from 1995,I got a job and started buying video game and video game magazines. Then I got a Super NES,a PlayStation,PlayStation 2,Sega Dreamcast, and an XBOX. I got a lot of games between these 5 systems. Then 3 years ago,my parents got me a Nintendo Wii for Christmas, something I did not expect,it was really awesome! Then I got an XBOX 360 as well. Then a place known as Games To Gold happened to me. I bought a Sega Saturn there and then I opened up an Amazon.com account to get Night Warriors: DarkStalkers' Revenge to complete the DarkStalkers trilogy. Then I bought the coup de grace of video game systems: the ColecoVision. I did not know what happened to the ColecoVision I was given over 25 years ago so I bought this one. I bought the games off of Amazon.com: Carnival,Mouse Trap and Venture. Because I have a computer and been too busy surfing the Internet,I have not been playing video games as much but I will get back into the swing of things as soon as I can. Plus,I also got a Nintendo 3DS,which I got New Super Mario Bros. 2 with it. Now thanks to Amazon.com,I have the opportunity to relive my childhood! Well,I have to admit,I wished my parents did not take away my video game privileges because had they not taken them away,I would not have to worry about having an obsessive crush on Paulette,LOL! But we'll never know for sure what would have happened but the bottom line is,I like video games and my childhood lives on!
